Cereals 2022

Last week members of the James Hutton Limited Team visited the much anticipated Cereals 2022 event, held just outside Cambridge in near by Duxford.

Jamie, Scott and Joanna teamed up with Malcolm Macaulay and Paul Shaw from The James Hutton Institute over the two day event to demonstrate their barley research. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet up with old friends who swung by our stand whilst meeting new ones too.

On the opening day we got to meet our neighbours and with the show underway we were excited to see who we'd meet. One key highlight was our 3pm James Hutton Limited beer reception, completed with a commemorative beer - 'Smooth Booth' for Malcolm and Paul's late colleague Allan Booth.

'Smooth Booth'

'Smooth Booth' was a tribute from local brewery "The Law Brewing Company". Allan's work in barley was significant at the James Hutton Institute and we were able to demonstrate the link between his work and barley, through beer.

Paul talks at Cereals.

On day 2, as well as welcoming more people in to our stand and visiting the show - Paul was invited to speak about the work he and the institute are doing, discussing technology and agriculture. He was joined by industry experts and Jo Churchill MP, the Defra Government Minister.

We were delighted to be back at live events like this after such a long lay off and we're excited for what the rest of the summer has instore for us.
