All samples will have DNA extracted from them, DNA will be quantified and visualised on agarose gels.
Tissue material and DNA will be frozen at -80°C and retained for 2 years.
57R marker is closely linked to the H1 gene conferring near-absolute resistance to Globodera rostochiensis.
The 57R marker will be used to screen the DNA using polymerase chain (PCR) technology and the resulting PCR products will be visualised using gel electrophoresis. A report will be created indicating whether the sample has a marker for the H1 gene or not.
