Meet the Team - Negin Tajali

Negin Tajali - James Hutton Limited Marketing Assistant

James Hutton Limited is delighted to welcome Negin Tajali to the role of marketing assistant. Negin will work with us over the course of a six-month secondment as part of MDS graduate trainee programme, a scheme designed for training future leaders of the food and fresh produce industry.

Here's what Negin has to say...

I’m Negin and, originally from Iran, I’ve lived and grown up in Edinburgh from the age of four. I have previous experience working as a web designer and academic qualifications in Interactive Media, Advertising and Public Relations, and recently, in the midst of the madness of the Covid-19 pandemic, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from Edinburgh Napier University.

My long-term goal is to contribute to the efforts in eliminating food poverty and promoting sustainability within the food industry. I’m pleased to be joining James Hutton Limited where I hope to add value by continuing the efforts to increase exposure on the valuable advancements we make.

Prior to joining James Hutton Limited, my first secondment was with a cake manufacturer, Johnstone’s Food Service, who are part of the Finsbury Food Group. My role as an Operational Excellence Support consisted of introducing efficiencies within production, working on projects such as reducing the volume of non-recoverable waste, as well as having the opportunity to be involved in the trialling of new products. Having never been inside a factory before my secondment, this new experience gave me a great insight and useful understanding into the world of food manufacturing and the food supply chain.

I’m really looking forward to being part of the James Hutton Limited team for these next six months and being part of the remarkable work that we do here.

Some fun facts ...

What is your favourite genre of music?

It’s hard to say… My Spotify “artist of the decade” was Sean Paul, my most listened to album in 2020 was the soundtrack of the musical Hamilton, and the best concert I’ve ever been to was Ludovico Einaudi.

If you could go anywhere right now, where would you go?

I’d go to my happy place – lying on the sun loungers of a local bar which were embedded in the rocks by the sea in Hvar, Croatia, to watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand.
